When the Tears Fall
When the tears fall
who will catch them?
When the burden gets heavy
who will help shoulder the load?
We had each other
to wipe the dampness from our cheeks
We were there, together
to help lighten the load of the other
No one to guide us
in what we had to do
To weather the storms and stay the course
was something we did not know how to do
Drifted apart and alone
we were unable to throw the other a rope
Or perhaps we tried
but we were too busy throwing ours to catch the others
When the loneliness returns
who will light the empty nights?
When the tears fall
do they also fall for you?
