The Warmth
I reach out to touch
and there's no one there.
Just an empty bed
and a cold pillow.
The warmth I felt was
just a dream.
I look through the darkness
and imagine who might be there.
I feel the warmth of companionship
but it's quickly replaced with the
coldness of reality.
I close my eyes and imagine her eyes,
her face, and her soft flowing hair.
A warm soft feeling fills the room with
Love
I reach out and open my eyes,
the image disappears.
In it's place only darkness and
the feeling of reality.
Through clenched teeth I ask myself
how long can I go on?
How many more empty nights
and solitary days?
To share the Love and Romance that I have,
a treasure to give another, this is
what I want,
My goal and dream.
A tear rools down and touches the empty pillow.
I close my eyes and slowly the image returns,
Ever so gently the anger disappears.
