Goodbye My Friend
Sadness and sorrow
Another life have I scared
Lessons that are learned
Hearts that are broken
We danced among the stars
Hearts entwined and spirits soared
We shared our deepest dreams
We cared with all our heart
Promises were made
Memories were shared
A kindred spirit we had found
A soul whose hand we can hold
In our separation, our hearts grew close
We missed each other dearly
We looked forward to our reunion
But outside influences crashed
our hopes onto the rocks
Before we knew what happened
we laid barren and battered upon the shore
We did not foresee the pain of the storm
If we could we may have steered around our agony
But as it stands now, the storm is still raging
When it will end, how it will end
is something we don't know
I look over to where you are
Brushing your storm tossed hair aside I look into your cherished
eyes
We don't know what the future holds
or whether we'll make it out alive
So before anything else bad happens
I tell you I love you
and with my final breath
I say my goodbyes
