Exhaustion

In weariness and weakness
In exhaustion and despair.

I lay myself down
    into solitary care.

No shoulder to lean on
No soft hand to hold.

I lay myself down
    into a bed of flowers
    alone and unheld.
I lay myself down
    alone in despair.
