Tribute to Charli

When the Love has gone
    and the life removed

Weep for me not because
    I am still with you

When the pain becomes great
and the sorrow too much to bear

Remember you are not alone
within your heart I am there

If the morning comes
    with bitter stinging tears

Fear not, for as the sun will rise
My spirit will always be there

Some of us called her friend
Some of us called her sister
Some of us called her daughter
Some of us called her mother
One of us called her wife

She was many different things to many different people. We may never know the reasons why she left us so soon, and we may always wonder what if. What if we could've done things differently as a friend? What if we could've done things differently as a parent? As a brother? As a child? As a husband? For the family of Charli, we pray for your strength to get through these troubled times.

Ray said she was at her happiest when she was at the renaissance festival. I, and many others, were privileged to have known her during those happy times. I remember the times we spent listening and singing along to the music of Owain Phyfe, the time we'd duck into a hat store were she and the girls would try on furry hats while I took their picture, and the many times she would graciously hold my cup at the pub and return it empty of drink but full of innocent smile. Those of that were privileged to have known Charli at her happiest times remember a girl that was full of spirit and fun to be around. One that we liked to tease and who would tease us right back. We held her close as part of our extended family, and we watched as her daughters blossomed into beautiful young ladies. She meant a lot to each of us. We laughed when she laughed, and some of us cried when she cried. She was a good friend with a strong caring heart.

We each saw a different side of Charli. We saw Love, we saw Friendship, we saw her at her happiest, and some of us saw her at her saddest. We may never know why she left us so soon. But we must take comfort in knowing that we did get a chance to know her and have our lives touched by her. Her spirit is with us, and her Love is in our hearts.
